SNC-Lavalin has been awarded a contract to build a new 2,400 metric tonnes per day sulphuric acid plant.

SNC-Lavalin has been awarded a contract to build a new 2,400 metric tonnes per day sulphuric acid plant.

The contract includes the technology package, engineering, project management and procurement services, and construction assistance, of the plant in Mexico. It is part of a mining and processing complex currently under development in Baja, Mexico, which will be Mexico’s largest copper-cobalt project to date.

The total capital investment for the new acid plant, including the 46MW power island, is approximately US$120 million.
