London, Ontario wind tunnel will cost an estimated $24 million
Researchers at the University of Western Ontario are planning to build what they say is the world’s first-ever wind tunnel that can create tornado-like conditions and offer insight into how to harness the power of wind. The facility, called the Wind Engineering, Energy and Environment — or WindEEE for short — will be used to research ways to protect people from storms and optimize positioning for wind farms and turbines.
