The B.C. Industry Training Authority (ITA) is receiving up to a million dollars in funds from the provincial government to offer First Nations training for heavy equipment operators, building maintenance and a trades program for Aboriginal women.

The B.C. Industry Training Authority (ITA) is receiving up to a million dollars in funds from the provincial government to offer First Nations training for heavy equipment operators, building maintenance and a trades program for Aboriginal women.

The ITA has had success supporting other programs directed at Aboriginals. For example, the Tseycum First Nation/Camosun College Residential Building Maintenance Worker Program has improved the skills of community maintenance workers, and has helped some enter and complete apprenticeship programs.
