Construction is moving upwards at the Ashbridges Bay Treatment Plant, D Building upgrade on Leslie Street in Toronto, Ont.
General contractor Kenaidan Contracting Ltd. began the project in July 2010. Completion is scheduled for May 2013. The work includes new loading bay, split-flow conduit/grit bypass, screen building, a biofilter odour-control building, channel bypass and new conduits 6 to 9. The owner is City of Toronto and prime consultant is Aecom/Stantec.
Subcontractors include: H & S Equipment (excavation) Anchor Shoring & Caissons Ltd.; EBS Engineering and Construction Ltd. (helical piles); Northwest Contracting (site services); Gilbert Steel Ltd.; Outspan Structures Ltd. (formwork); Global Precast Inc.; Vision Almet (structural steel); Ontario Redimix; Algoma (painting); Bernel Masonry; WS Nicholls (mechanical/electrical); Classic Fire Protection; Major Glass (windows); Triumph Roofing; Aquanorth (waterproofing) and Empire Paving.
