Work is ongoing for the new Student Learning Centre at Ryerson University in Toronto, Ont.
EllisDon Corp. is the construction manager for the eight-storey project being built on the former Sam the Record Man site. Designed for LEED Silver certification, the new centre will provide space for individual and group studies, have an elevated plaza, ground floor retail space and a bridge connecting to the existing library. The owner is Ryerson University and completion is scheduled for summer 2014. The project was designed by Zeidler Partnership Architects and Snohetta Architects. Consultants include: Yolles (a CH2M HILL company) (structural) and Crossey Engineering Ltd. (mechanical/electrical).
