Vincent Vertuccio pleaded guilty April 12 in a Brooklyn federal court.

Acting U.S. Attorney Bridget Rohde says the 61-year-old Maspeth, New York, resident pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy and making a false tax return. She says he also has agreed to pay over $1 million in restitution.

Prosecutors say Vertuccio hid his control of a construction company when it was bidding to do work on the One World Trade Center project. They say he also hid his interest to hide taxable income he received from the construction company.

Vertuccio could face up to 20 years in prison when he is sentenced.
