Alberta hikes budget for school construction in the wake of rising construction costs
Claiming rising construction costs, the Alberta government has hiked its budget to $312 million for 18 schools being built as public-private partnerships. The admission came after questions from the Alberta Liberals in the legislature about why the budget had been hiked and why the government is considering amending the Fiscal Responsibility Act to consider long-term project costs as provincial debt.
