Fredericton

Electrical problems are the suspected cause of a recent fire at the New Brunswick Pipe Trades administration office and training facility.

The fire broke out at the trade’s office before 2 a.m. on Monday.

Flames were coming through the roof of the Fredericton industrial park unit when fire crews arrived.

“The main office building itself wasn’t damaged structurally and the rear took most of the damage,” said Bob Martin, Fredericton fire assistant deputy chief. “We do expect it was electrical, but we still have investigators looking into it.”

Officials with the pipe trades could not be reached for comment.
