Ontario Construction Secretariat to host ‘state of the industry’ conference

The Ontario Construction Secretariat will host a ‘State of the Industry & Outlook Conference’ March 3 in Toronto. The conference will be structured to “ provide attendees with an opportunity to hear and react to the opinions of professional industry experts,” OCS said in a news release.

Scheduled speakers for the morning conference are: Ontario Labour Minister Peter Fonseca, global economy expert Dr. Lloyd Atkinson, Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters president and CEO Jason Myers and Katherine Jacobs, director of research and analysis for the Ontario Construction Secretariat.

The annual conference is provided free of charge by the OCS.

The conference will be at the Doubletree by Hilton, Airport Hotel, 655 Dixon Rd. The event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. (registration is at 8 a.m.)

The Ontario Construction Secretariat (OCS) represents the interests of the 25 unionized construction trades within Ontario in both labour and management.
