The workshop on Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is scheduled by the Canadian Mechanical Contracting Education Foundation (CMCEF) April 28 in Hamilton, Ontario. Deadline for registration is April 11.

The Canadian Mechanical Contracting Education Foundation (CMCEF) will present a one-day interactive workshop that provides a technical review of the 2009 LEED Canada for new construction (NC) and major renovations rating system.

Technologies and strategies that can assist in achieving credits will be discussed and participants will be given the opportunity to begin to consider the synergies between the various credits, the foundation said.

Case studies have been created to assist participants in applying their learning in relation to a real project scenario.

The foundation said workshop objectives are: to communicate the purpose and benefits of the LEED Canada NC 2009 rating system; describe the intents and requirements of each LEED Canada NC 2009 credit; and identify how LEED Canada NC 2009 can be applied to Canadian buildings

The workshop will be held April 28 at Construction House in Hamilton. The cut-off date for registration is April 11.
