“Consultants will now be engaged to prepare contract packages for the upcoming tender call,” the officer of Premier Kathy Dunderdale stated in a press release.

Completion of the facility is scheduled for December, 2013.

The size of the facility will be about 1,400 square metres. It will include a two-storey and one-storey space. Facilities will include a therapy pool, rock climbing wall, walking track and community kitchen. It will also include outdoor walking trails.

The project will be designed to attain silver certification under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards. The province will provide $6.16 million under the Municipal Works Capital program. The other $1.54 will come from the town.
