Bidding has closed on construction projects at the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus for the Toronto 2015 Pan/Parapan American Games. The consortia originally invited to bid include PCL Constructors Canada Inc., Bondfield Construction and Hunt Construction Group Inc.
Infrastructure Ontario announced this week that bidding has closed on construction projects at the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus for the Toronto 2015 Pan/Parapan American Games.
Last summer, the province identified three consortia invited to bid for contracts to design, build and finance the Pan American Aquatics Centre (PAAC), Field House and Canadian Sport Institute Ontario (CSIO) project.
IO stated in a press release Tuesday that it will, along with TO2015, the City of Toronto and the University of Toronto, evaluate the bidders’ proposals based on criteria set out in the RFP.
The winning team will announced this summer. Construction is expected to be finished by 2014. The cost will be announced after financial close.
The consortia identified by IO in August were:
• Aquatic Consortium of Toronto 2015, which includes PCL Constructors Canada Inc., NORR Ltd., Counsilman–Hunsaker and TD Securities;
• Hunt-Urbacon LP, which includes Hunt Construction Group Inc., Urbacon Ltd.'s buildings group, WZMH Architects (formerly known as The Webb, Zerafa, Menkes, Housden Partnership), 360 Architecture and CIT Financial; and
• United Toronto, which includes Laing O’Rourke, Bondfield Construction, ZAS Architects, Populous, RMJM Sport Rocklynn Capital Inc. and KPMG LLP.
Once the games are over the sports centre will be jointly owned by the city and the university.
