Newfoundland announces roadwork in Bay of Islands, Humber region

The Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Transportation and Works is inviting contractors to bid on a roadwork project at various locations in and near Corner Brook. The work includes paving, pulverizing, milling and resurfacing various sections of roads in the Bay of Islands and Humber region

The Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Transportation and Works is inviting contractors to bid on a roadwork project at various locations in and near Corner Brook.

The work includes milling and paving about two kilometres of the Trans Canada Highway between the Riverside Drive and the Lewin Parkway underpass in Corner Brook.

It also includes sections on highways 402, 440, 450 and 402 in the Bay of Islands and Humber region. The contractor would:

• pave about 1.8 kilometres of Route 440 on the north shore of the Bay of Islands;

• pulverize and pave about 1.7 kilometres from the entrance to McIver’s towards Cox’s Cove, also north of the Bay of Islands;

• pulverize and pave about one kilometer of Route 450 from Frenchman’s Cove toward York Harbour, about 40 kilometres northwest of Corner Brook;

• pulverize, mill and pave a total of about 3.1 kilometres, in two sections, of Route 450 between York Harbour and Lark Harbour;

• pulverize, mill and pave about 2.8 kilometres of Route 450 between Georgetown Road and Mount Moriah; and

• upgrade and pave four sections of Route 402, Gallants Road, between the Trans Canada Highway and Gallants Bridge.

Various locations on each highway will also undergo resurfacing.
