Provincial representatives recently announced eight local school infrastructure projects for the Ottawa area.

These projects will provide students with modern facilities and help reduce the cost of under-used space, states a release issued by the Ministry of Education June 12.

The eight new projects include:

in Ottawa, an addition to Agincourt Road Public School and renovations to Woodroffe Avenue Public School and Pinecrest Public School;

in Nepean, additions to Sir Robert Borden High School and Merivale High School, and renovations to Bell High School and Briargreen Public School; and

in Gloucester, renovations to Gloucester High School.

Ontario is investing $18.3 million in the Ottawa region for these schools.

Since 2013, the government has invested $9.3 billion in capital funding for school boards to support over 121 new schools and over 144 additions and renovations.
