Governments invest $1.7M for construction of new Quebec bike path
LA DORE, QUE. — A 13-kilometre bicycle path linking the Zoo sauvage de Saint-Felicien and the Moulin des Pionniers is moving ahead thanks to the governments of Canada and Quebec and the Municipality of La Dore each investing $575,000.
The assistance comes from the New Building Canada Fund, Provincial-Territorial Infrastructure Component—Small Communities Fund.
"Recreational infrastructure helps keep our communities healthy and improve people's quality of life," said Jean-Yves Duclos, minister of families, children and social development on behalf of the Minister of Infrastructure and Communities Amarjeet Sohi. "Our government is proud to be investing in projects like the construction of a new bike path in La Dore, which will encourage active transportation among residents while promoting the development of tourism, economic growth and the creation of well-paid middle-class jobs."
