TORONTO — Two workers at a Bay Street construction site were taken to hospital April 9 after suffering injuries on the job.

Toronto Police said the victims were struck by concrete and one had serious injuries. The workplace is located at Bay Street and Walton Street and the victims are employed by Hardwall Construction (2005) Limited and Cooltech Air Systems Limited respectively. The site contractor is PCL Constructors Canada Inc.

A Ministry of Labour inspector visited the scene the day of the incident and returned with a ministry engineer the next day to continue the investigation.

The following work orders were given: to the constructor, PCL Constructors, one do not disturb requirement; to Hardwall Construction, one requirement for documentation; and to Cooltech Air Systems, one requirement for documentation.

The investigation is ongoing.
