Ground recently broke on a new office tower located at the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre, according to the Ontario government.
The new tower will be home to a number of tenants, most notably KPMG.
"Our government's transit investments in Vaughan helped make the KPMG office tower a reality, and are spurring the development of a thriving new downtown for Vaughan," said Premier Kathleen Wynne in a press statement.
The Ontario government stated it has been helping build up Vaughan by making investments into public transit, such as $870 million to build the Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension that will extend to the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre.
The City of Vaughan forecasts more than 11,000 people will work in downtown Vaughan and 25,000 will live there by 2031.
