MISSISSAUGA, ONT. — A fixed-price contract has been awarded to EllisDon Infrastructure CGS RER Inc. to design, build and finance the Cooksville GO station redevelopment project.
Contract awarded for Cooksville GO station

The contract is valued at $128.4 million and was awarded by Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Metrolinx.

Members of the EllisDon team include:

Lead: EllisDon Infrastructure CGS RER Inc.

• Construction: EllisDon Design-Build Inc.

• Design: WalterFedy, Brodie & Associates, WSP/MMM

• Financial advisor: EllisDon Capital Inc.

Construction will begin immediately with an expected substantial completion date for summer 2020, explains a release from IO. EllisDon anticipates approximately 150 workers onsite at the peak of construction and adds the majority will come from the Greater Toronto Area.

The scope of work for the Cooksville project includes a new station building; upgrades to the platform access tunnels; a new six-storey parking structure and redevelopment of parking areas; and a bus loop with a minimum of eight bus bays for GO and MiWay bus service.

The project is being delivered using IO's Alternative Financing and Procurement model, the release adds.

Work on the Milton corridor is part of a larger, system-wide plan to improve overall GO Transit service, including the delivery of Regional Express Rail, which the province states will provide faster and more frequent service across the GO rail network, with electrified service on core segments. It is one of the largest transit infrastructure investments in Canada.
