VIDEO: The CF Toronto Eaton Centre Pedestrian Bridge
The current sky bridge between Eaton Centre and the Hudson’s Bay/Saks building is being replaced with the CF Toronto Eaton Centre Pedestrian Bridge, a new, unique structure that matches the differing geometries of the two structures.
Because of the density of the downtown core, the new bridge is being built on nearby James Street before eventually being installed on Queen St, one of the city's busiest thoroughfares.
The Daily Commercial News spoke to David Stewart, the director of project management development for Cadillac Fairview and Matt Stainton a senior construction manager with PCL Constructors Canada about the challenges of building the new bridge.
